Chairman Bennett Statement on January Unemployment Report
COLUMBUS – Ohio Republican Party Chairman Bob Bennett said President Obama should be looking to Ohio Republicans as an example of how to create jobs following the release of today’s unemployment numbers.
“Governor John Kasich’s smart economic policies are helping Ohio working families to create jobs while President Obama’s jobs strategy has been as successful as shooting a marble off a toothpick from two miles away. After learning that the American economy shrank in the final quarter of 2012 this week, we are now finding out that an economic recovery is still not a priority for this president and more proof that headwinds from the White House are holding Ohio and other states back economically.
“Under the leadership of Governor John Kasich, Ohio Republicans have structured a balanced budget that encourages economic growth, cut taxes, and reduced bureaucratic red tape to help Ohio families create more jobs. We still have a long road ahead, but Republicans have started Ohio down a proven path to recovery.”
